These Memphis Beer Brats are loaded with bold flavors from beer, onions, and a zesty kick of Memphis Marinades 901 Reserve or Mild Memphis Rub & Shake. Whether you’re firing up the grill for a tailgate, hosting a backyard BBQ, or planning a weeknight dinner, this simple recipe brings big flavor in no time.
INGREDIENTS
- 6-8 bratwursts
- 2 cans or bottles of beer (12oz each), lager or amber
- Onion, halved and sliced
- 3 tbsp Memphis Marinades 901 Reserve or Mild Memphis Rub & Shake
- 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
- 6 buns or hoagie rolls
INSTRUCTIONS
- Heat your grill to high heat.
- In a pot, add beer, onions, mustard, and 901 Reserve or Mild Memphis Rub & Shake heat to high heat until it starts to simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and add bratwursts to the pot. Simmer for 10 minutes or until they are cooked through and then remove.
- Place bratwursts on grill until they are browned on all sides. 2-3 minutes as side.
- Heat the pot with beer and onions to medium-high and continue cooking until onions are very soft, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside onions.
- Grill the rolls cut-side down for 1 minute to toast.
- Serve brats on rolls topped with onions, additional mustard or garlic aioli.
