INGREDIENTS
- 3 sticks of butter (12 oz)
- Zest from 2 oranges
- 2 Orange Dark or Milk Chocolate Candy bars, chopped (6-7 oz total)
- 4.5 oz chopped hazelnut
- 2 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed, brown sugar
- 6 large eggs, straight from the fridge
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/3 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven at 350°F.
- Line a 9 x 13 in anodized aluminum baking pan with foil and grease lightly.
- In a 3 or 4 quart stainless steel sauce pan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, increase heat to medium, stirring and scraping up any brown bits until golden yellow. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate bars.
- Set up your stand mixer with the whisk attachment. In the stand mixer bowl combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, eggs, and vanilla. Whip on medium-high for 8 minutes until thick and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, orange zest, and hazelnuts.
- Reduce speed of the stand mixer to low and add the butter/chocolate mixture. Once combined, add the flour mixture. Continue mixing until everything is combined.
- Pour into the prepared aluminum baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes or to an internal temperature of 205°F.
- Cool brownies to room temperature.
